About Me: My Dream Home

by Lori on August 16, 2011

When we bought our house the only two reasons we bought this house was because of the location(at the end of a culdasac and good school district) and the yard(MASSIVE backyard). That is it. The inside was nothing we liked but we knew we could live with. Therefore we always knew we would move again. This will not be our forever home.

I day dream A LOT about what I want my next house to look like and have in it.

The new “must haves” for me are:

  • a pool
  • on a culdasac
  • at LEAST 4 bedrooms
  • gas stove
  • wall oven
  • large pantry
  • nice yard(even with the pool we need a yard because of the dog)
I would really love to live out on some land where I could have horses and cows and chicken but I just do not know if that will ever happen. Land out this way is SUPER expensive!
Here are a few picture of my dream home:
I LOVE this wrap around porch!
Check out this awesome play area for the kids! Also the “Adult area” up top! ;)
LOVE this laundry room!
The Pool. {SIGH}
Awesome right? {SIGH}
If only I could win the lottery or something. Gotta play to win I suppose!
What about you? What is in your dream house?!

While we would love a pool, I’m not sure how practical it is when it’s only warm enough 4-5 months out of the year to take a swim! Still, for the summer, it would be kind of awesome to have one.

Ends of culs-de-sac are amazing because of the huge yards! I love that laundry room picture. Our laundry is in the garage! Blech!

We’ve rented a ton of houses and it really helps narrow down our must-have list. Cul-de-sac is TOPS on our list too!

BTW- my daughter broke her arm on a playground like the one pictured. The slide went over a railroad tie, with grass on one side and sand on the other. It’s really, really dangerous; sand/landing surface should be all around the entire play area with a safety margin of a couple of feet. (I blogged about it in more detail if you’re interested: http://www.milehimama.com/works-for-me-wednesday/dont-break-your-arm/)
