This is part of a Back to School series.
I am all about routines and nice neat areas. I do not like clutter. Clutter seriously gives me panic attacks.
With school underway I KNEW I had to create a area for the kids to put their shoes, backpacks, lunches and jackets so they did not end up on the dining room floor right by the door.
My solution was a landing pad. I took a old bookcase that fit in the space perfectly. I just added pink and blue baskets to hold the backpacks, lunch kits, and even canvas bins to old everyone’s hats and mittens when cold weather finally arrives.
Now when the kids come in they know where to put their bags and they are not on the floor in the way!
For shoes I had this nice white bench seat that had baskets in the 3 cubbies. Each kid has a cubbie with their shoes. You can see their jackets are hanging with Command Hooks( I love those things!) and the little brown basket on top is where we put any outgoing mail so hubby can grab it with his lunch kit when its time to go.
Having this landing pad area has really helped keep the area nice and neat PLUS the kids always know where their stuff is!
How do you keep the school clutter at bay?
