My Letter to God

Dear Lord,

First, I want to give you all the praise. Praise you for everything that is yours, for all I have and all I am is because of you.

Second, I want to thank you for bringing Jennifer into our lives. I cannot express to you what a joy it is to have her in our lives. Even without meeting her in person, she has blessed our family more than I could have ever imagined.

You laid it upon our hearts to sponsor Jennifer. To love her, to help support her, and to help guide her to your everlasting love. While some days I question if we are even making a difference in this little girls life who lives so far away from us, but then I remember that you would not have brought her to us if we could not be there for her as you have commanded.

Sponsoring this child has changed my family in ways I would never imagine. It has taught my children to really pray for others and to take time to show others they care. They love writing letters to our sponsor child just as much as they love receiving letters from her. We know that you are doing that. You are working in our children to make them better followers of your word. You are leading them to be the people you created them to be. Putting Jennifer in our lives has only strengthened their love and desire for learning your word and knowing you better. They want to be able to talk to their friends and our sponsor child in a way that all children can understand, that you love us. You will never leave us and we can always talk to you.

That is one thing I hope we can really get Jennifer to understand. You truly are everlasting. Your love does not waiver. Even as we sin, even small children, you love them. Unconditionally. Giving our hearts to you is the most glorious gift we can give.

Even as we are thousands of miles apart, I want Jennifer to feel special, to feel safe, to feel important, and most importantly…I want her to feel loved. I know you can do that for her Lord. I pray daily for your word to speak to Jennifer. To reach her in a way that my letters cannot. Speak the truth, speak the love that you give and lead her unto your arms.

Sponsoring this child has been a blessing Lord. A blessing I have to thank you for. A blessing you gave to my family and I. Something you trusted us with, leading by example and loving a child in need.

Thank you Lord. I give you all the glory my Heavenly Father.
