Today is National Running Day!
The first Wednesday in the month of June is always dubbed National Running Day!
I have recently taken up running as a form of exercise. I am training for my first half marathon in November.
Running has become something I really enjoy. I enjoy the peace I get being outside in the peace and quiet. It is one opportunity I have to be just me.
I encourage everyone to get out and run today. Enjoy the scenery around you. Control your breathing as you run and really take in the fresh air.
If you can’t “run”, “wog” instead. Wog is just a fast walk. Not quite a jog but faster than a walk. Take the first step in getting healthy for yourself and your family today. It is the first day of the month so it is the perfect time to start something new.
If the heat is too much for you, get out early in the morning or go late in the evening when the sun is down. The point is to just get out there!
