Well, the month is over and so is my no meat challenge?
How did I do?
Eh. I didn’t do too bad. I did have some meat a couple days. Seriously, a handful of days and only at one meal basically. I know what you are thinking, “She caved and had turkey on Thanksgiving!”. Nope. Not even close. I had fantastic beef fajitas twice and wings and beer. two of my most favorite things. Am I disappointed? Na. I know I can do it. Meat is not something I need all the time.
This challenge also made me try new food and even my family found a few new things they enjoy that doesn’t require meat!
I also have to say that I did feel better when I didn’t have any meat. On those days where I ended up having meat I felt very blah afterwards. Heavy and just not well.
So the verdict on this challenge? Awesome I think. While I didn’t go the full month without eating meat, I did learn a lot about cooking, foods and myself. I will definitely be eating less meat from now on because I loved the way it made me feel to eat tons of fruits, veggies and other forms of protein.
