Back to School Series: Soap Time

by Lori on August 15, 2011

This is a series of post in the Back to School Edition.

Does the kids going back to school have you nervous about the millions of germs they are going to come into contact with once they start?

Are you buying Lysol and disinfecting wipes in bulk?

Now you can help teach your kids about washing their hands in a fun new way!

SoapTime® is a patented system that provides a multi-media “Edutainment” experience that makes wash time FUN!  Children are encouraged to wash their hands while learning proper wash time (:20 seconds).  It’s great for children of all ages, especially between 2 ½ & 7 when they are initiating independent hand washing & need encouragement to get to the sink.  They are engaged by lights, musical & educational content while learning Healthy Habits for Life!

The full Soap Time set- 3 uniquely Themed Bottles: ABC, Earth, and Elephant, each recognized by the SmartBase®. All bottles have educational themes narrated by our very own, Professor Goodhabits.  The music was written, produced, & recorded by Brian Vander Ark, of the Verve Pipe.  ABC’s theme is language, Earth’s theme is nature, and Elephant’s theme is wild kingdom.

My kids have really enjoyed this set.  C-man would literally put soap on his hands and without rubbing, stick his hands under the running water. This has helped him see he needs to scrub until the music and lights stop. It is a fun, creative way to get your kids to scrub away the germs that could make them very sick.

Soap Time is available at select Bed, Bath and Beyond Stores but will be available Nation Wide soon. Please check out their website to see if there is a location near you that carries Soap Time.

My husband and I teach our toddler boys to wash their hands after going to the restroom, being outside, meals, and anytime they feel dirty. We have also taught them to sneeze/cough inside their forearm to avoid spreading any germs.

I teach my kids to be healthy in many ways. We take our vitamins daily, wash our hands frequently and eat healthy fruits and veggies. We cut out as many chemicals as we possibly can and hardly ever eat processed foods. Also being a mom of two boys I have to constanly remind them that their boogs are not a healthy food option… I know GROSS!

I teach my son to eat healthy, drink lots of water, brush his teeth in the morning and night and of course wash hands after the bathroom. Thanks for the chance!
