Mother’s Day and Flowers Go Hand in Hand

by Lori on February 28, 2012

I love homemade gifts from the kids for Mother’s Day. They are some of my favorite things that I receive on Mother’s Day.

Pencil holders, Magnets with their pictures, and even paper flowers. These are gifts that I will treasure forever.

Now, I am not saying that those are the ONLY gifts I like to get on Mother’s Day.

Men: Do not freak out. You did not miss it. Mother’s Day is May 13th so you still have time to get the perfect gift.

I love to get fruit dipped in chocolate, itunes gift cards, and flowers. REAL beautiful flowers.

Take this one for example.

The colors are radiant, one of a kind, and beautiful beyond words. I also love the little tea cup and saucer they come in. Once the flowers are past their prime you could use the tea cup and saucer for any decoration in any room. Perhaps a potpourri holder in a guest room or bathroom? The possibilities are endless!

Do you like more traditional flowers for gifts?

How about a bouquet of mini roses in a beautiful round goblet vase. Roses are so traditional but timeless and perfect. They really do make a great Mother’s Day gift.  The vase is perfect for filling with pretty beads, ornaments and so much more once the flowers are past their prime.

There is just something special about a vase of flowers arriving at you door without you even knowing it.  I know every time I have received flowers it has been like a gift from heaven, arriving just at the perfect moment when I needed the reminder most that I matter, that I am a good friend, a good sister, a good daughter, a good, wife and a awesome mother.

What do you traditional give on Mother’s Day? Are the Mother’s Day Flowers your official go to gift?

I give my great aunt flowers every Mother’s Day (and every other holiday). For the kids’ grandma, we get her a potted plant that she can stick in her constantly growing garden.
