As you have seen from many of my posts recently, I went to Los Angeles for the World Premeire of Disney/Pixar’s Brave.
Talk about the trip of a lifetime!
It was something that I will never forget.
One of our “assignments” while we were there was to interview the cast from the movie. This is what I was most nervous about. Walking the green carpet was no biggie. Being in a room with famous people, sitting less than 20 feet from said famous people was a little intimidating.
The interview time with Kevin McKidd and Craig Ferguson was the one I was hoping I could keep my cool with. Luckily all my other blog friends were on the same wave length with the questions to ask them so I did not have to attempt to speak like a competent human being to the gorgeous famous people.
When both men were asked if they find it more difficult to get into character when they are doing a voice over as to a character on TV, Kevin said he used to hate doing his own voice. He was a quite shy boy when growing up so he got into acting to get him out of his shell. Now that he is older he is more comfortable using his own voice, accent and all.
Craig and Kevin both said they were really happy and honored to be apart of a movie that pays homage to their homeland of Scottland. Botha greed that the creators of Brave did a excellent job bringing Scottland to the animated big screen. Craig also let us know that it rains much more in real Scotland versus animated Scotland.
Also, Kevin McKidd said he gets a ton of offers to play the villain in films. He believes it is because of his looks, which I am sorry, this man does not look like a villain to me. *fans self* He also said he would only take a bad guy role every couple of years as he did not want to known as the bad guy in all those films.
Craig and Kevin spoke highly of director Mark Andrews. One example Kevin spoke of was being in the booth during one session and Mark coming onto the overhead speaker telling him that they needed that line done again and for Kevin to pretend someone just poked him in the eye with a stick! Kevin said, little things like that would help them get the line out the way it needed to be done. “Andrews is really good at getting your juices flowing”, Kevin said.
And just in case your are wondering, unfortunately they did not wear kilts when they were in the studio recording.
Both Kevin and Craig were gracious and very down to earth. It was one of my favorite interviews at the event. Seeing them laugh and smile with each other and as well at us and our girly giggles was quite a sight!
It was also pretty awesome to hear them mention the Mommy Bloggers on Craig’s late show!Right around the 1:30 mark they start mentioning us!
**Diclosure: I was apart of a group of bloggers sent to Los Angeles for the Disney/Pixar Brave event. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.
