I recently had the opportunity to see The Avengers before it hit theaters. I am not a so called comic book nerd. I love a good action movie and as a mom to two boys I have learned a lot about comic book heroes. I was really excited to check out this movie so I could talk to my boys more about something I usually no very little about.
That was one of the great things about this movie, you do not have to be a comic book guru to know who everyone is or what is going on. I did not feel lost once. It was a very easy to follow movie.
Another wonderful thing about this movie was the comedy! Yes you heard me, comedy in a action film. I laughed so much during this movie.I think Robert Downing Jr was just a hoot! He really made the movie so enjoyable. It became more than just a action packed movie.
The graphics were also amazing! The Hulk was done wonderfully and you could still tell it was Mark Ruffalo who was the Hulk and not just some computer. The facial features really made him himself.
Should you take your kids to this movie? This depends on your kid. I do not consider this movie to be too scary BUT I know that one particular scene might have my kids waking up at night upset. They could surprise me and it not phase them one bit, but I am not sure I want to take that chance. We will probably wait to let the kids see it, rent it on DVD and we can always cover their eyes during the scene I am talking about. I believe in movie ratings for a reason but again…YOU KNOW YOUR CHILD! I plan to take my husband to see it at the theater though!
So, make sure you head out this weekend and check out the new Summer Blockbuster movie, The Avengers! It will NOT disappoint you! The Avengers is in theaters starting TODAY!

I can remember from the very first time they saw that the movie was coming out. My boys yelled ” mom please take me on opening day”. Although, I had meetings already scheduled for that weekend. I decided to allow my assistant to take my meeting over for me so I can spend time with my boys.
The night the movie came out I took my kids to see the movie. They loved it! I am so happy I was able to move something around that would allow me to have a blast with my family!
