Tasty Tuesday~ Spinach Chips

by Lori on April 5, 2011

I had some spinach I needed to use and to be honest I was a little tired of salads and omelets.

I decided to try out Spinach Chips. They are made the same way as Kale Chips so it was super easy.

The verdict: They are good, but I prefer the Kale. Not sure how to describe it but Kale just took on a better flavor when cooked than the spinach. Now, the spinach is good and its a great way to use fresh spinach if you have it  and to get your veggies in you.

Its not a very good picture but this is what they look like at the end. They get very bitter if you over cook them and they cook faster than the Kale Chips so be careful when cooking!

Spinach Chips

Ingredients:

Spinach- 1 1/2-2cups

1-1 1/2 TB Olive Oil

1 tsp Salt

1 tsp Pepper

1 tsp Garlic Powder

Directions:

Heat your oven to 350. Wash and dry your kale really well.  Tear the leaves into smaller pieces (think of a chip) and place into a bowl. Add olive oil, about a tablespoon and toss to coat the leaves really well. Spread the kale onto a baking sheet into a single layer. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Bake for about 10 minutes but watch them carefully. If they start to get too brown they turn very bitter.
