It is finally here.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is FINALLY in theaters!

Let me tell you, this is one movie you can not wait for it to hit DVD. You have to see it and see it soon. Also see it multiple times!

Captain America picks up after the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, and finds Steve Rogers living quietly in Washington, D.C., and trying to adjust to the modern world.

But when S.H.I.E.L.D colleague a comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue and mystery that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with Natasha Romanof aka Black Widow, Captain American struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off assailants sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, The Falcon. However, they soon find themselves against an unexpected and formidable new enemy- the Winter Soldier.

This movie has everything you would ever expect from a Marvel’s movie. Tons of amazing action and stunts, great story plot, and yes even some humor.

The addition of Anthony Mackie is a fantastic addition to the Captain America franchise. His humor really lightening the mood in some intense action scenes and he really rocked the Falcon “costume”. He was one of my favorite people in this film. I really liked the way they brought Falcon into the series and this choice of actor really hit the nail on the head for me. And talk about bad ass, Anthony Mackie had to do lots of wire work, 70ft up to be exact and then had to be lowered swiftly onto a very specific mark at some scenes. Luckily Mackie is very athletic and also was very energetic about his role that this made it easier on the crew when working on these intense scenes.

Scarlett Johansson is of course the popular, Black Widow and she is the perfect actress for this role. In this movie you get to see another side of Natasha. While she is doing what she does best, kicking the bad guys butts, she is trying to play match maker for Steve Rogers and find him a girlfriend. It is quite comical to see these two together talking over something like this. Usually it is all business with Natasha and Steve, so adding in a normal conversation of dating was a nice change. It also really let you see a caring side to Natasha. Something we do not see often with the Black Widow.

When they revealed Bucky Barnes as the Winter Soldier it was nice that they did a little play back to the first Captain America movie so those that may not have seen the first one would know what was going on. Of course us die hard fans new way back when. Sebastian Stan played The Winter Soldier perfectly! He has those perfect eyes to show the “evil” that is needed to play the villain in a super hero movie.  To be honest, this guy is 10 times as scary looking and evil than Loki. Just my opinion but man he really freaked me out with that mask on!

As you will notice in this film, Captain America got a new suit for this film. Will they continue to use this one in the upcoming Avengers 2 or the one used in the first Avengers is unknown. I actually REALLY like the blue on Chris Evans. Like REALLY. Of course, I think  Chris Evans would look good wearing a potato sack myself. And he could probably still kick the bad guys butts in it too with all the extra martial arts training he did for the film. You will see a lot more modern fighting moves from the Cap this movie. They really wanted to bring Steve into the modern world he was living in so Chris had to do a lot of training to get ready including Parkour, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, karate and boxing.

I REALLY enjoyed this film. Much more than the first Captain America. I love the way they handled that story though and showed scenes from the first one to bring it all together. While this movie has a PG-13 rating for the violence and fighting scenes, I plan to take my children this weekend to see it and they are 11, 7, and 5. This movie is much tamer than some of the others but also very action packed. It is a classic example of doing the right thing and being the hero. I know my kids will love it and they have been talking about this film for months. Not familiar with comic books and the stories? No worries. I really do not feel like you need to be big into comic books to see this movie and fall in love with it.

So take your family out this weekend to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier! You will not regret the decision to see this amazing movie!  Also, stay till the very end! I mean lights are coming on end! You will not want to miss out on the two extra clips that are shown!
