My 9 Month Hiatus from Blogging

by Lori on March 2, 2016

It has been roughly 9 months since my last blog post here.

There are no great pictures to share in this post. No words of wisdom. No recipe for you guys to try out.

I wish I had some fantastic excuse for it, but to be honest all I have is the same ole’ same ole’  reasons for not focusing on this site.

I thought I would come here and tell you guys that my recover from neck surgery was long, but then I remembered I never even updated you guys to tell you I had neck surgery! The last post with my neck problems was just generic and I was not really sure what was going on. From that post, who knew that 6 months later I would be undergoing neck surgery? Not me. I was hoping for an easier solution to my pain and loss of feeling in my arms and hands. Unfortunately, surgery was the only way to give myself relief. Neck Fusion Surgery is no joke, especially when you have 3 levels needing to be repaired.

Now I sit here, 16 months after surgery and I can tell you that I have full use and all sensation has returned to my arms. I have limited mobility in my neck on the right side, but we were well aware of this ahead of time. We believed the use and sensation returning to my arms were more important to being able to turn my head completely to the right.

Surgery recover was long. It was a rough one. 6 weeks of not being able to drive or lift anything. Long hours of physical therapy and depending on so many people. Finally, a year later I can report I can sit at a computer for a long period of time. I can lift a gallon of milk and a basket full of dirty clothes now. I can do more for myself and my family than I could do before.

Does this mean more posting from me? I sure hope so. I have a binder full of ideas, a camera that has been neglected, and a life I am ready to start living again. Those of you who stuck around with me, thank you. Your loyalty and care mean the world to me. I hope I can return the favor and be there for you guys now.
